Gus Bates III, CLU, LUTCF.

Gus Bates III, CLU began his insurance career in 1966 and is the founding partner of The Gus Bates Company. He is a Fort Worth native and a graduate of Paschal High School. After attending Texas A&M, he transferred to TCU and obtained his BS degree in Biology. In addition, Gus holds the designation of Chartered Life Underwriter. His clients enjoy his attention to detail and continued personalized service in all aspects of their insurance needs. As a highly trained professional in the insurance field, Gus shows his excellence through his hard work and dedication and is known among his industry peers for his honesty and integrity.

Gus has won many sales and quality awards including the National Quality Award, Sales Associate of the Year, Career Service Award, and is a lifetime member (over 35 years) of the Million Dollar Round Table. In addition, Gus has served on the Agent's Advisory Committee and is a continuing qualifier for the Life Insurance Cabinet of major carries.

Gus gives much of his time and talent back to the community, and is very active in several charitable organizations. He currently serves as Chairman of the Board for the Tarrant County Chapter of the United Cerebral Palsy organization. He also serves on the executive board for the Fort Worth Parks & Recreation Sports Advisory Council and was a past board member of the Fort Worth Boys & Girls Club as well as Young Life. In addition, he has served on the board for the Tarrant County Epilepsy Foundation and served on the 2001 selection committee for the prestigious Roberto Clemente Award. Gus is an active sportsman and has participated as both a player and a coach. In 1994, he was inducted into the Texas Flag Football Hall of Fame.

Gus and his wife Sheryl live in Fort Worth and have two grown children, as well as four grandchildren.
